    Individual Book Report: Book in a Bag



       
    Materials: 
    __ A novel approved by the teacher (90-300 pages)   
    __ A large paper shopping bag or gift bag 
    __ Paper, scissors, glue, markers, pencil crayons, tape etc.

    Procedure:
    1.       Choose a novel that you haven’t read or started yet
    2.       Get novel approved by teacher
    3.       Take notes while reading on the following (include page numbers as evidence):
    ·         Setting
    ·         Characters
    ·         Main events of the plot
    ·         Literary devices (2 examples of each) :
    alliteration
    Simile
    Metaphor
    Idiom








    4.       Read the novel
    5.       Write a summary of the novel and attach it to the back of the bag
    6.       Write a biographies of two of the main characters and attach them  to the right side of the bag
    7.       Write a description of the setting(s) of the novel and attach it to the left side of the bag. Write out the literary devices found in your novel and attach them to the left side of the bag.
    8.       Create a different cover for the novel which includes:
    §  The Title
    §  Author
    §  A detailed, coloured illustration
    9.       Collect at least three things, that will fit into your bag, to help you tell the class about your book when you present your report.
    10.    During the presentation you will:
    ·         Give a summary of the novel
    ·         Explain why you selected the objects in the bag and how they connect to the novel
    ·         Tell who you would recommend the book to and why.

    Novel read by Wed 4 June
    Story bag finished by Mon 9 June
