Volunteer Appreciation Breakfast

Room 13 Students created over 80 thank you cards for King George's wonderful volunteers. They wrote messages in each card thanking people for helping to make our school year special. We are so fortunate to have so many people involved.
The "great big thank you" banner was painted by N.W., H.S., L.H., T.H., T.R-P, E.P, K.N, and T.G..
Many thanks to Ms Vanetti, Mrs Van, Ms Montgomery and Mrs LT for organizing this event.

Meeting Richard Scrimger

On Monday 12 May Mrs LT met author Richard Scrimger at the launch of his new book "Viminy Crowe's Comic Book".  We read two of his books, "The Way to Schenectady" and "The Nose from Jupiter", earlier in the school year. It was fun chatting to him and also meeting his co-author Marthe Jocelyn and the illustrator Claudia Davila.

INTERNATIONAL DAY OF PINK

Wednesday April 9th, 2014 marks the International Day of Pink. It is a day when communities across the country, and across the world, can unite in celebrating diversity and raising awareness to stop all forms of bullying.

International Day of Pink was started in Nova Scotia when two high school students saw another boy being bullied for wearing a pink shirt. The two students stepped in to help him but wanted to do more to prevent things like that from happening. They decided to buy a lot of pink shirts and a few days later everyone at school arrived wearing pink. The result was that an entire school stopped bullying.

On Wednesday April 9th, wear pink to celebrate diversity and join together to put a stop to bullying.
