Spooky Spirit Day

Thursday 31 October is Halloween and Spooky Spirit Day at King George School. To get everyone in the mood we'll be telling riddles and knock, knock jokes on the morning announcements.

Spirit Club will meet at morning recess on Thursday 17 October to make posters and write announcements. Bring your best Halloween riddles.

 Q What is a vampire's favourite holiday? A Fangsgiving.

PALS - Playground Activity Leaders in Schools

Great news! King George PS will be starting up the P.A.L.S. program!

P.A.L.S. is a playground leadership program for schools.

It encourages all children to participate in activities during recess breaks.

Objectives of the Program

• Increase physical activity
• Decrease conflict and reduce the incidence of playground bullying
• Provide a leadership opportunity for students

Announcements with more information will start 27 October.

Application forms will go home 1 November and are due back on 8 November. 

Training session for student leaders will be all day on 14 November in the gym.

Community Meeting

In response to reports of criminal activities over the last several months, Councillor Sarah Doucette invites you to meet our local police officers and safety specialists to discuss these reports of criminal activity in our Ward and how we can protect ourselves.

Change of routine this week

On Monday 6 October, eight of our twenty students will be going to the cross country meet at Centennial Park for the day. We wish them the best of luck. Just over forty King George Students will be competing.

Friday 11 October is a board wide Professional Activity Day which means no school for students.
Monday 14 October is the Thanksgiving holiday.

We will not be doing a spelling unit this week. Next week spelling will  resume with List 5.

I have been trying to update this blog for several days but have been experiencing technical difficulties.
