Market Gallery Field Trip

Market Gallery Field Trip
On Wednesday, January 22nd, Room 13 students went to the Market Gallery to learn about government and debating.  During an interactive slide show and a “true or false” activity, we reviewed the three levels of government and learned about their three branches; legislative, judicial and executive.  In four groups we researched whether or not Toronto should build an incinerator or buy a landfill site to deal with its garbage problem. to prepare for the debate. After lunch, we had the debate and voted just like city councilors do. In our class, we will continue to debate different topics. We also enjoyed looking around the historic St Lawrence Market at the amazing variety of foods. It was an awesome field trip!
