- Mrs L-T received an email from our pen pals in Italy on Friday which said that they have put their reply letters to us in the mail.
- No spelling the week of 16 December. We'll start 2014 with List 13 on 6 January.
- Scrabble Club: we'll eat lunch in the library on Wednesday this week to celebrate. This will be the last Junior Scrabble Club meeting.

Santa's New Suit: art and writing assignment.

Quadrilateral Review
Grade 5 students have been reviewing the characteristics of quadrilaterals from the grade 4 curriculum.
On large polygons students have marked and written about:
- parallel sides
- equal sides
- angle measurements
- types of angles
- lines of symmetry

Poetry Anthologies
We've learned a lot about poetry, writing and editing our own work while putting together our poetry anthologies.
During their presentations, students will share:
- an overview of their anthology
- two poems that they have written
- one of their selected poems
- one of their illustrations
Art Journals: Assembling the books
Today Anna and my daughter Jahn cut the large sheets of paper to make the individual pages of our art journals. They assembled the pages and bound them with cord. Thanks for doing such an awesome job. Don't they look amazing? We're looking forward to our next creative session, which will be scheduled before the holidays.
