INTERNATIONAL DAY OF PINK

Wednesday April 9th, 2014 marks the International Day of Pink. It is a day when communities across the country, and across the world, can unite in celebrating diversity and raising awareness to stop all forms of bullying.

International Day of Pink was started in Nova Scotia when two high school students saw another boy being bullied for wearing a pink shirt. The two students stepped in to help him but wanted to do more to prevent things like that from happening. They decided to buy a lot of pink shirts and a few days later everyone at school arrived wearing pink. The result was that an entire school stopped bullying.

On Wednesday April 9th, wear pink to celebrate diversity and join together to put a stop to bullying.
